AbstractChiang Mai is one of the important tourist places of Thailand with many beautiful ancient places. Therefore, it will be useful to create the model from these ancient places as an application program on Pocket PC so that the tourists can preview the tourist places in Chiang Mai before visiting. Moreover, it is another way to assist in promoting the tourist industry of the country. From studying on Chiang Mai's information, it is found that there are six popular tourist places that are Thapae Gate, King Mengrai Shrine, Three Kings Monument, Wat Prasingha, Suandok Gate and Wat Pra That Doi Suthep. Thus, the 3D models of these six places are created for installing on Pocket PC on platform Windows Mobile 2003 for Pocket PC by using the form of code program of OpenGL ES - The Standard for Embedded Accelerated 3D Graphics. This application program can be practically installed on Pocket PC. The user can choose to view place and control perspective of camera angle like being in the real place. In addition, the user can choose animation for more convenience to view the place without perspective control. It is hoped that this research will be useful of people who are interested in application program, and it is also hoped that this research will be applied to use in the tourist organizations in the future in order to promote technology and tourism of the country
