AbstractInternet banking is a rather new system that uses the Internet as the delivery channel to conduct banking activities. This research was developed to address the banks' concerns about Internet banking: what makes people adopt Internet banking or not? How satisfied are the current users? Attracting new customer and retaining existing one by giving them satisfaction with the service, are true competition weapons. A matrix was developed to compare the products and services proposed through Internet banking in the Thai banks studied. An existing framework was used to evaluate the level of performance of Internet banking, by collecting and analysing information about the level of adoption of Internet banking and the satisfaction of active customers. The study reveals that perceived insufficient security is the main factor that discourages people to use Internet banking. Favourable conditions for adoption are: easy of use and learn, perceived usefulness and trustworthiness ofthe banks and of the security measures. Users are somewhat satisfied with Internet banking. Information and system quality are considered satisfying. However, customer service is considered not good enough and the information provided on Internet banking does not fit the majority's needs
