| Abstract | UNFPA, which has been supporting the Bangladesh Family Planning program for about three decades since 1976, organized communication training for generating effective social communication and mass mobilization on different health and population issues and the training was implemented in seven districts of Bangladesh by Development Support Link, a renowned consultancy firm in Bangladesh. In this study attempts have been made to evaluate the impact of this training on the trainees (health service providers) and health service recipients. The training has been found to be successful in heightening the knowledge of the trainees but adequate evidences have not been found to come to a conclusion that the training has molded their positive attitude towards provisioning of their services that is supposed to be reflected in their behavior with the service recipients. The research study has also led to recommendations, one of which is the formation of groups of participants of homogeneous category in order to facilitate communication more effectively between the trainers and the participants and among the participants, for increasing the effectiveness of similar type of training programs that could take place in future |
