AbstractThe concept of knowledge management (KM) emerged since 1978, but it had been brought into Thai's private organizations and state enterprise just only 3-4 years ago, around year 2003. Beside, many international organizations in Thailand apply KM model from their headquarters to adapt in Thai's branch. So, this research .will present about the implementation of KM in Thailand business sector for both Thai and international organization. The information is obtained from the in-depth interview with many large and success companies like Spansion, Siemens, EGAT, AIS and DTAC; and 150 sample surveys from officer in large organizations who is named knowledge workers who work in the organization that need the huge amount information and knowledge to support the work process and decision making. Both source of information will be analyzed so as to summarize the current situation of KM in Thailand, and its future trend. The study indicates that large numbers of organization in Thailand are already implemented KM in their organization, but still in the young stage which is difficult to judge that they are success or fail. Some of them managed the knowledge in the daily operation but does not realize that is KM. Some of them try to do but cannot conduct the useable and useful knowledge. In addition, the details of worthwhile implement KM will be deeply verify in term of time, financial, and human contribution. It is obvious that the success company will define the business objective and goal in order to consider on how KM can be facilitate their business process.
