Abstract | In Myanmar, there is lack of precaution for unforeseen situations and low inspection when the project established. Therefore, the construction of highway projects are not established the suitable and efficient disaster risk assessment, planning, implementation, controlling the quality and safety yet. That’s why, it consists various kinds of risk in the road project like the natural hazards seriously, especially in mountainous regions. Disasters in the mountainous regions include earthquakes, droughts, volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, landslides, snowstorms, soil rushes, and rock slides. Hence there is a need to take into account of risk management in mountainous projects. This paper, thus, aims to analyze how to conduct when the disaster happened in term of the design of tools that construction projects may utilize to avoid or minimize their risks and then to increase the chances of having an adequate measure that prevents bad outcomes in cost, scope, safety, and schedule and then to successfully carry out more effective project methods throughout the project’s life cycle.
