| Abstract | BIM (Building Information Modeling) and sustainable construction are the inevitable trends of today's construction industry in Vietnam in particular and the world in general. In recent years, adoption of BIM in project management has become an issue of great concern in the construction industry. The nations in the wide world and in the region have been approaching BIM actively to their Building standards and national strategies because they have seen the benefits of BIM considered as an important prerequisite to increase the competiveness, operational efficiency of the construction industry, and to develop sustainably. By conducting virtual construction works first then in actual, BIM allows the stakeholders involved in the project to review and evaluate the effectiveness of the work before embarking on construction in fact, solve the problems associated right from the initial design phase of the project, significant savings in terms of time, cost, energy and environmental protection. The purpose of the paper is to study the best practice of BIM adopting in project management for sustainable construction in construction phase with its benefits and challenges. Moreover, the paper also presents the application of BIM for project management in construction of a sustainable project in Binh Duong province, Vietnam. |
