| Abstract | Vietnam has achieved rapid economic growth, which promotes development of industry, infrastructure, housing and life standard of people. Beside the positive aspects, current construction practice has been challenged. One of the most critical factors causing decreasingly the competitive competency of Vietnamese firms comes from quality management system. However, it is the fact that quality management system has not been paid much attention in practice. While most projects are safe and cost-effective, there are remaining shortcomings in terms of quality at different levels due to internal and external causes. Based on Vietnamese construction law, owner ultimately has key responsibility for whole aspects related to project, especially construction quality. With this regard, this report has been analyzed based on a real resettlement interior design and finishing project in Viet Nam and discussed clearly about project performance in implementation phase. The report also pointed out the strengths and weaknesses of the company. According to the practice process, the report proposed the contractor’s quality management system framework for developing interior design and finishing projects in Viet Nam. Moreover, some recommendations were suggested to improve the performance in terms of finishing projects. |
