AbstractThe fuzzy based ordering routing algorithm (FOA) is a framework for mobile ad hoc network where inaccurate information available for making decisions. The goal of the path selection process is to identify a feasible path while prolong the connectivity of the network, use a few hops, minimum cost and possibly some others for establishing a successful connection. Under assumption that a list of candidate path already exists, we explore the fuzzy logic approach for this purpose. The performance evaluation that a list of the proposed algorithm is done by a simulation program that compares between fuzzy logic approach, the minimum hop, and the nearest neighbour approach, where the main performance metric is the number of hops, the number of link break for successfully establishing a feasible connection, and the path cost. The results show that the fuzzy approach has the lower number of hops, longest connectivity of the network, and the lowest cost than the standard approach.
