AbstractAd hoc mobile wireless networks become more widely used and more popular today, they can be applied to many tasks like rescue teams, solider battalions and disaster areas etc. The study of hybrid routing protocol in this research is carried out to find the optimum point for zone routing protocol that can be adapted in real life. We assume four case studies in simulation. The number of zone radii, number of mobile nodes, density of mobile nodes, network size and movement of mobile nodes are varied in the simulation. The performance metrics of ad hoc routing protocol that used to measure the ability of the hybrid zone routing protocol are route discovery delay, packet delivery ratio and routing overhead.
