Abstract | In the recent days RF MEMS is one of the most valuable discipline of science and technology & RF MEMS switch & Filters have experienced increased use for telecommunication application in the last twelve years due to their high performance compared to the other microelectronics switch available in present electronic world. Considering the cost effectiveness and high performance, conventional switch are replaced by RF MEMS switch in mobile communication technology. In order to open circuit in transmission line or simply to get a short circuit, RF MEMS uses mechanical movement and it has immense privileges of low-insertion loss, good linearity and high isolation. To achieve low voltage, switching frequency and low insertion loss, a RF MEMS switch is designed in this investigation using ANSYS and Sonnet Software. Two types of beam model are considered for structural and pull in analysis. The dimensions of simple beam and beam with meanders are 420 µm x 300µm, 4 µm x 30 µm, 150 µm x80µm, 56 µm x 60 µm and 420 µm x 300µm, 4µm spacing & 4µm width, 56 µm x 60 µm respectively. For pull in analysis 2.5V to 6 V has been applied. The best suitable deflection 2.8536 µm of has been achieved at the applied pull in voltage and maximum equivalent stress 4.5278 Mpa. |
