AbstractThe development of the science and technology in communication have been given out new ways and benefits for the automation solutions. Tendency of networking, decentralization, softening, and standardization are four basics among many characteristics of this changing. For the controlling problem, the methodology and quality of the control system are the first priorities that the integrated system engineer has to decide. It will be the conventional control method or the new one is a question should be considered. Nowaday, constructing an automation system is not the problem of choosing or not, it is the problem of what kind of the network and controlling method should be chosen. In this thesis, the research will focus mainly on the development of the Profibus DP for smart device and the development of the PLC based Fuzzy controller in the process control. The development board 1m I 83 and 1m I 84 will be combined with the microprocessor system to make the interface to the user devices. With the open architecture, these two-interface modules allowed the user easy to integrated the normal devices to the Profibus system. The fuzzy logic controllers for the Temperature, Pressure control, and flow and level control will be developed by the Structure Control Language (SCL), a programming language for the programmable logic controller. In order to monitor the behavior of the controllers and process, the simulation for the steam boiler process will be built. The WinCC will handle the function of HMI and archiving variables in the process
