AbstractThis study had described the scope and limitation of study on utilization of remittances in rural families of migrant women garment workers in Kompong Speu Province, which three villages in study area have many number of female migrant working in garment factory. Both quantitative and qualitative method were applied to achieve four specific objectives: to understand the uses of remittance of recipient families and their perceptions of parents and community, to investigate the recognition and behavior changes of parents and sibling after daughters migrated to work in garment factory. The finding of the study indicated that remittances generally had impact to recipient families both positive and negative and many solutions to response the financial shortage and introduces the solutions in any circumstance in the rural households. The leaving of working daughters had brought many aspects to their families and community to pay values and respects to their passions via the contributions of women's income. Remittances had changed the values of women in households in order to compatible women in decision making and introduce the solution in the household. Seemingly, the effects of remittances also have found in recipient families on the way they treat their daughters and other siblings in advance. Hence, the leaving of daughters might not improve the living condition in poor households of their rural families, since they will suffer from lack of farm labour and some suffer from daughters falling sick by going to work in cities as its amount of receiving was less than expenditures due to the lack of seeking income source as well as crop & animal failures. The families of women workers could not impede many concerns on daughters during their work in garment factory as they wish to get them back home to have specific carriers in term of better living condition
