AbstractMobile communications tariff is known to be high in the developing countries. This Research Study gives an overview on the existing tariff in countries of Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN). In this study, an evaluation of a realistic case of mobile communication tariff from an existing network is investigated. Some concepts about the market structures of mobile communications and a tariff methodology (Cost Base Model) is used to evaluate the existing tariff of a realistic sample in Vietnam. The tariff structure of telecommunications in Vietnam is introduced to provide a general view of the situation in Vietnam. More in depth, investigation is carried out for mobile communication section with the history of building and development of the market in Vietnam. The evaluation of telecom tariff in Vietnam in ASEAN enviromnent is found indicating the real level of these tariffs in Vietnam, when they are compared equally and based on Gross Nation Income (GNI) with other ASEAN countries. After a realistic sample is analyzed, a consumer friendly mobile tariff is attempted to be offered.
