AbstractMyanmar is also in the initial stages of economic development as a developing country, but a lot of construction is emerging, and is being implemented by international organizations. Owing to the existence of the construction industry, risk is inevitable and therefore claims arise in the construction projects. The process of managing claims is also very critical. Management of poor claims leads to litigation within the construction sector. It is very important to effectively manage claims to get settlement. In this study, the purpose of this research is to identify claims that are occurring in the internationally funded projects and to investigate how owner settle contractor’s claims occurring in the internationally funded projects in Myanmar and to propose a recommendation to manage the contractor’s claims for future internationally funded projects. Finally, key situation is defined for the claims of the contractor that are occurring in the internationally funded projects. Afterwards, it investigates the critical situation of claims and the settlement of claims. Findings from this analysis can be used in future internationally funded projects in Myanmar for a better understanding of claim situation.
