AbstractNowadays, the construction industry is facing with the performance issue in most of the construction project. The factors effecting the project performance have investigated by many studied, especially project manager competency. However, this thesis was conducted in the area of Thailand in order to indicated that which project manager competency groups have important correlated to project performance in Thailand. Moreover, the project complexity and empowerment will be investigated as the effect on correlation between project manager competency and project performance. Also, the project manager competency in low-rise and high-rise building project was compared. The aim of study in this thesis is indicate the important competency of project manager who play a vital role to the construction project, especially in Thailand. Moreover, to acknowledge about the project complexity and empowerment which is alternatively important to the project performance. Also, to indicated different project manager competency in different kind of building project. The data was collected by distribution of questionnaire in Bangkok, Thailand. The total of distributing is 50 questionnaires. According to the results, the research has found that project manager competency has significant correlation with construction project performance. Moreover, there are effect of project complexity and empowerment on correlation between project manager competency and project performance was found. Also, project manager competency was found the different on low-rise and high-rise building project in Thailand.
