Abstract | Movies Industry is growing day by day. It is a billion-dollar industry. There are thousands of movies released every year. One of the major objectives behind making a movie is earning revenue from it. Movies can be hit, flop or average. Predicting revenue is a real-life problem. I participated in a Kaggle competition to predict the movie revenue. We were giving data of 3,000 movies to train the model and predict the revenue on 5,000 movies. A total of 1,398 teams participated in this competition. We performed data cleaning and feature engineering. We applied 5 Machine Learning algorithms. LightGBM algorithm performed the best, and we ranked at 30th place at the leaderboard. |
