| Abstract | Using project management information systems, it can help project managers to control their projects' risk and quality. Current project management systems and applications are very powerful but rather complex. Therefore, the users of those systems and applications require having high computer skills and project management knowledge in order to use them well. Construction SMEs is a group of organizations that might not have enough computer skills and professional management knowledge. Moreover, current project management information systems are quiet expensive for construction SMEs. Thus, there is a need to develop a project management system which is easy to use and has low cost for construction SMEs. This research study develops an Online Construction Project Management (OCPM) system prototype which can meet construction SMEs' requirements. There are four main modules in this system: project baseline management module, planning module, daily repo1ting module and project summary module. The system is developed by Ruby on Rails, and uses MySQL database. |
