| Abstract | A Research Support System (RSS) is currently widely used in research institutions by providing researchers with facilities to collect and manage their publications and to find related scientific papers, reports, journals and proceedings. Moreover, an RSS also provides collaboration tools for supporting work carried out together between researchers in different geographic locations. However, most existing RSS 's do not employ standards to represent researcher profiles and research information. In addition, their content is not given well-defined meaning, making it difficult for other researchers to retrieve relevant information. This research proposes a new RSS that provides features for supporting researchers by employing semantic web technology in order to improve the efficiency of the management and sharing of research information. The proposed RSS integrates metadata, Resource Description Framework (RDF), ontology, and Linked Open Data (LOO) with information resources. It is developed by enhancing Open Scholar with the Drupal RDF API module, enabling Open Scholar to be connected with semantic web technology and other open standard-based information resources. Finally, Blog is used to be collaboration tool which allows researchers to share their knowledge. |
