Abstract | MANET is widely used in many areas, and there are many types of routing protocols. In this research, we focus on Optimized Link State Routing protocol or OLSR. We examine the consequences of different transmission range of terminals in network, which is called heterogeneous network. The range of transmission can impact on performance in tenns of average packet delive1y ratio, end-to-end delay, contrnl overhead, and throughput. Since the homogeneous network, which has identical terminals, has better perf01mance, we intrnduce the proposed algorithm to improve the perfonnance in heterogeneous network. This proposed algoritlun is OLSR with modified Connectivity Index (CI). In simulation models, we study the impact of network density, speed of nodes and pause time. According to the results, proposed OLSR with modified CI can improve the perfo1mance in terms of average packet delive1y ratio and throughput. However, they trade off control overhead and end-to-end delay. Moreover, the overload traffic can affect to network efficiency. |
