Abstract | Growing economies, unequal economic distribution and thirsty eyes for employment are some facts which we experience every day. In the developing and resourceful areas community based fisheries can be so popular to satisfy the needs of the people and duties of the government to walk on the way to achieve millennium development goals. The objective of this research is to know, how success and acceptable is the community based fisheries management, what are the rules and regulations for fisheries management and how actively the local people are accepted and adopting the regulations for sustaining practices. This research finding shows that the Community based Fisheries Management are very popular in the study area; because most of local respondents can easily adopt these practices in rich biodiversity area in order to sustain their livelihood. My study shows that fishery management practices has become very important in the study areas and generated hope for conception of local establish food supply and sustainable aquatic resources. This study also includes assessment and evaluation of the current outcomes of fishery management and fishing control practices and important recommendations, based on field practices. Kiet Ngong swamp located inside the Xe-Pian National Protected Area was considered for case study and the outcome from this study identifies the main points that need to be addressed in order to improve the community fishery regulations or fishery management, and show the ways out of alternative livelihood by using fish and aquatic resources to establishment the local livelihood and economic from aquatic resources in Kiet Ngong swamp and tributaries. |
