AbstractTrust Management (TM) is a promising approach for authorization and access control in distributed system, based on signed distributed policy statements expressed in policy language. Role-based Trust management (RT), a recently proposed framework is claimed to have combined strengths of previous TM systems. The RT framework is a family of Role-based Trust management languages for representing policies and credentials in distributed authorization. In this thesis, we study the concept and basic principles of TM, summarize existing Trust management systems and examine languages of the RT framework.
