Abstract | This study develops a new class of isoparametric elements by implementing Kriging shape functions instead of Finite Element shape functions. Kriging shape functions are used as a superior substitution of Finite Element shape functions because of its interesting features, like its ability to exactly reproduce essential boundary conditions and its smoothness in the stress field approximation. It also eliminates the necessity to change the mesh structure if high basis order is used. A number of examples are presented to verify the accuracy of this present method |
