AbstractTourism industry had become the largest industry and largest employer in the world; it has grown significantly since more than forty years in the past. World Tourism Organisation (WTO) considered Asia Pacific to be the fastest growing destination area for international tourist arrivals in the world and Cambodia is one of them. The significance of tourism growth reflects to business opportunities and its development enlargement. In Cambodia, tourism industry plays a vital role in the economic growth and development. Obviously tourist arrivals are increasing tremendously by day. This potential tourist destination catches the eyes of investors to invest a lot of business in Cambodia especially in transportation, hospitality and other related products and services. Further more the increasing of room demand in Cambodia put this issue to private and public sector to ensure the accommodation and proving service satisfaction. Information and communication technology is vital in tourism industry. Various high tech information and communication technologies are in use in the tourism sector around the world. In the accommodation sector also the contribution of information technology is prominent. Today, e-commerce becomes very useful in business. In addition, payment security and privacy is also main co.ncern for online buyers. Based on the demand of accommodation, looking at the growth of tourism market and the significance of e-commerce in Cambodia, and then we could find the interest in online hotel reservation. The research study basically studied lodging business in tourism market, e-commerce and Internet marketing. The research question is How to develop the lodging market in Cambodia by doing online reservation? and how to develop and promote such a tourism portal in Cambodia, which is doing online hotels reservation to a number of destinations in this country. The result of this research obviously demonstrates the importance of Internet involving in tourism products/services, mostly refer to hotels. The objectives of this research study is totally about the behaviours of visitors regarding room reservation, Internet usage, payment and so on. In addition, hotels are considered as a main supplier for online intermediary. Therefore the study is about accommodation as well. How hotels are doing business with the customers in Cambodia, what are their strategies and policies regarding reservation, booking, cancellation and payment as well.
