AbstractThe construction industry has evolved from just a couple of men job to huge projects of ten thousands of workers including complex management structures. In this path of evolution on of the major factor which was highly focused was the aspect of Cost Accounting. Cost accounting plays a vital role in the success of any scale of project, it is a specialized branch of accounting, which involves classifications, accumulation, assignment and control of costs. It is found that the main cause of inefficient cost accounting is the practice of non-systematic work procedures in companies, such work procedure will consumes resources and ends up occurring extra costs for the company. The tracking of the cost occurrence is impossible and applying solution is inefficient. With the aim of making the construction cost accounting process effective residential construction companies, this study has introduce five separate logical data flow modules for Contract Basis Work, Labor Payments, Progress Payment, Material Requisition and Purchasing. And also Checklist which will help to evaluate the current companys system of work. A pilot study company was investigated to analyze the developed module for feasibility of it.
