AbstractThe utilization of used rubber is a fast growing research area in the world, due to the higher environmental effect cause by used rubber. Thus an experimental approach was undertaken to determine the effects on the characteristic strength of a rubberized concrete mix design This research was conducted by the addition of different percentages of rubber content of 1%, 5%, and 10% by cement weight with different rubber particle sizes varying from M18, M8-14 and M7 to a given mix design. Drying shrinkage, compressive strength and splitting tensile strength were investigated considering each of the mix rubber content samples. The water curing was as for drying shrinkage 3 and 28 Days, for compressive strength it was 7 and 28 Days and for splitting tensile strength was done after 28 days of curing. Subsequently specimen sets were stored in an indoor condition which had a 75% relative humidity and 250 C temperatures until 28 days.
