AbstractThe goal of this proposal is to build an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) system and to use this application as a timing system for bike races. RFID technology finds its usage for the purpose of tracking and identifying objects automatically, by making use of the RF (radio frequency) electromagnetic fields present in the atmosphere. It is a non-contact and wireless technique which is based on the concept of transmitting and receiving data in the form of radio frequencies. It can be conveniently utilized for timing a race and is a better option than the conventional timers and stop watches. This project aims to note the finishing time of each entrant in a bike race and to display the winner amongst them using by constructing a RFID Timing system. The system is developed by using the RFID components, the reader and the tags. The reader works at 2.4 GHz to detect active RFID tags. Arduino UNO has been used programming.
