AbstractPublic buses have been known as one of the power transit mode for people with a large capacity of passenger carrying and high number of headway. However, installing bus stop beside the road lane creates congestion for other vehicle whenever a bus picks up and drops off passengers. Bus Bay is special zone on the side of the main roadway for primarily buses to stop for a designated bus stop in order to serve passengers. The congestion condition at bus stop would be improved after Bus bay is installed. Driving in the curve section is difficult and dangerous for drivers. Accident rate in this section is quite high and the main result is the skid resistance at curve section is low as well as drivers drive at high speeds. To improve the safety at curve section, putting road surface marking is one of effective solution. This research evaluates improvement of congestion at the bus stop when using Bus Bay. In addition, the capstone project evaluates the improvement of safety at the curve section when putting road surface marking.
