AbstractInvented, and developed since 1905, precast concrete is widely used these day, but there are still many problem might be concern to investigate in beam to column connection to make it better. Most of the existing precast concrete in the market have problem of installation on site such as extra casting concrete on site, welding, and the error of erection make it hardly to install and require high skill of labor. In this research, I come up with a new kind of connection, T-C connectors, this kind of connection allow the beam which contain T steel section just side slide in the C section of column at the construction site, then it is ease to installation process. Then, the problem come up is that how larger the gap spacing between T and C connector still make the connection strong and also easier for the erection. So, the main objective of this study is investigated on how the gap spacing between T and C connector affect to load carrying capacity of T-C connector and the effect of different grout material which filled in the gap spacing affect to the strength of the connection. Four specimens S1, S2, S3 and S4 of steel T-C connector were tested under tension load until the failure of T-C connector happened. Specimen S1 and S2 were tested with different grout material and S3 have different gap spacing with specimen S2 were investigated. Specimen S4 designed to resist the load of 20 tons in order to check to capacity of bigger beam and column section. From the result of experiment, first, grout material does not affect to the strength of T-C connector. In addition, due to the limitation of time and knowledge, the effect of gap spacing to load carrying capacity of T-C connector is need more experiment with different gap spacing in order to clarify it effect.
