AbstractWhile the construction project is ongoing, it would be very beneficial for the contractor if prior knowledge on the trend of cash flow in the project is available. The purpose of this paper is to provide an effective cash framework of construction cash flow management to benefit the small-scale contractors with the help of a material tracking method that has a cash flow forecasting ability and to figure out the risk factors on a projects cash flow. At first the factors affecting the framework in project cash flow are to be clearly identified and hence the critical parameters of cash flows are investigated. With data from actual projects, the forecasting capability of the model and impact on cash flows caused by various uncertainties were studied. The developed model will help to predict future trend of cash flow in a project, and in the meantime to analyze the risk factors on cash flows.
