AbstractCellular lightweight concrete (CLC) has become a vital component of current construction industry. When considering the advantages, cellular lightweight concrete yields many over the general concrete which is currently used. Manufactures of CLC have recently identified a crack occurrence in their products which have used for construction purposes. Drying shrinkage of CLC has caused for this issue and a solution has to be found in order to prevent or reduce the effect. This study has carried out to investigate the effect of early stage indoor curing on the drying shrinkage behavior of CLC. Mainly the variations of strain due to the drying shrinkage have investigated at different durations of curing and humidity conditions. Moreover the results have compared with the results obtained from parallel studies carried out contemporary. It was found in this study that shrinkage rate is lower level when the curing period is high. Ultimate results have reflected the importance of adapting and implementing an indoor curing process under controlled environment at the initial stage of CLC to yield the best performances in long term condition.
