AbstractCellular light weight concrete (CLC) is emerging construction material in Thailand. A company involved in producing blocks using CLC encountered a drawback in their constructed wall constructed using CLC Blocks due to shrinkage cracking. This research implements solution to reduce shrinkage cracking by varying the fry ash. The research focuses on different fly ash contents together with water to cement ratio to observe the dry shrinkage behavior of six different types of mix designs. The fly ash content of mixture varies in 15%, 23% and 30% together with two different W/C ratio 0.375 and 0.5 respectively. 28days of indoor curing followed by outdoor curing up to 60 days use to observe the drying shrinkage of specimens. The all mix designs test for compressive strength and the density wise to find the most appropriate mix design that reduce drying shrinkage and fulfill minimum requirement of compressive strength together with density less than 800kgm3 . The research finds out fly ash 30% together with 0.375 is the most appropriate mix design that reduces drying shrinkage. It contains 769.987kg/m3 of density and 28.713ksc compressive strength which is great than the minimum requirement. The investigation demonstrates that the increase in fly ash content results for the reduction in drying shrinkage.
