Abstract | In this project the main goal was to implement a ”Black Box” for vehicles. GPS location of the vehicle, vehicle speed, rpm and other information extracted form engine control unit, force applied to the steering wheel and driver’s heart rate are the key information that will be recorded in this system. Also it is possible to determine the steering holding positions of the driver at any given time. In addition, the system is able to log uncertain conditions during the drive. This will be determine using the steering force sensor data and the driver’s heart rate data. The log files are saving inside the vehicle in ”.csv” format and these files can be transferred to another computer to do further analysis. This system is a development of both hardware and software and tested on NISSAN - ALMERA type vehicle. |
