AbstractObtaining traffic flow data is a tedious task which consumes plenty of time and money which benefits in developing, controlling and monitoring effective traffic methodologies. Flow, Speed and density over time are extensively studied with obtained past traffic flow records at Kanchanaphisek expressway in Bangkok. The obtained raw data are filtered in order to have a complete data set which is suitable to be analyzed for variation of traffic flow patterns in Kanchanaphisek expressway. Also VBA programming has been used to determine the data summary and for the data filtering process. Analysis, Results and conclusion of this project is based on free flow locations along the expressway with respect to typical days which are not effected by holidays, days adjacent to holidays or days with major events. The results depict traffic flow pattern variations during morning and evening peak hours with fundamental parameter of transportation, average flow, speed and density with respect to time and the fundamental diagram of traffic flow. However current traffic situation can vary depending on many facts and events.
