AbstractThis study is to perform a well log analysis of data collected at two locations along the new MRT line in Bangkok and correlate the well log analysis results with the geotechnical profiles. The emphasis is on the use of SP logging data as this type is commonly logged for groundwater wells. As the collected data were obtained in form of analog curves(image), Matlab code was used to digitize the paper logs. Well logging data used for this study are gamma ray (GR), spontaneous potential (SP) and resistivity logs. There are found 6 soil layers up to 70 m depth at Isaraphap station and 5 soil layers up to 59 m depth at Sanam Chai station, by well logging interpretation of gamma ray, spontaneous potential and resistivity logs. Shale volume was calculated based on SP and GR logs were used to calculated for zoning the soil layers. In conclusion, the methodology to use the matlab code to digitize the old well log records on papers was successfully applied and can be applied more widely to recycle a good amount of old well log records on papers that were made in the Bangkok area. It was also concluded that SP, GR and resistivity could be used for identifying the soil layers in addition to geotechnical investigation works. It is recommended more well log analysis to be done to provide the more detail about the zoning.
