AbstractThe report presents Poisson ratio investigation made on the low density polyurethane resin (PUR). Two chemicals, resin and isocyanate are used to make the PUR foam in this test. The unusual features of PUR foam is investigated by measuring Poisson ratio values. Several low densities PUR foams are tested in simple uniaxial compression test. For the horizontal strain measurement, the designed extensometer is used. Densities and Poisson ratio relationship is also investigated.
