AbstractPrecast concrete has been popular these years as it is labor cost and time saving. Also, the construction time and waste products from site are reduced due to pre-casting in the factories. When it comes to earthquake zones, several researches has been carried to test that precast concrete are better than monolithic concrete. Some of research shows that precast can be more reliable due to its withstand on cyclic loading as monolithic concrete does. Moreover, the energy dissipative devices are being used in beam-column connection to dissipate energy while seismic loading is applied. This research helps to develop energy dissipative device that can be replaced after damage. Two precast beams and a column were assembled and tested in the lab using unbonded posttensioning tendons through both beams and column and ended with grip at beams ends. Dissipative device was used in this study to grip the sacrificial bar when the bar was compressed and release the bar after tension. From results, this energy dissipative device could be useful in cyclic loading for precast structure and can be improved more.
