Abstract | I present a real-time driver monitoring system to help gather drivers’ behavior data from a remote system for evaluation. It is based on detecting lanes using a modified AIT Lane Detection System (LDS) that generates information about the driver’s lane tracking performance. The client system is comprised of an UDOO board that runs the AIT LDS system and MongoDB for local data storage. It uploads data to a Web server where further analysis is performed. A dashboard is used to display the analyzed data in real time. My system is able to store the lane data from the AIT LDS in MongoDB at 15 fps and upload it sequentially to the server over time while the system’s Internet connection is up. I also performed experiments on measuring the driver’s galvanic skin response (GSR) during driving to establish whether there was any correlation between driver state, GSR readings, and driving stability. In preliminary experiments, the correlation between GSR readings and vehicle stability was negligible, suggesting that other means are needed to establish whether stability of the vehicle in its lane depends on the awareness level of the driver |
