Abstract | Overbed tables are widely used in majority of hospitals around the globe. The underlying importance of the table is that it is multitasking and thereby it saves a lot of space. The overbed table is most suitable in a public ward where the space for a single patient is a constraint. Many ergonomists have studied the ergonomic factors in hospital furniture and there are many patents related to overbed tables. This ergonomic intervention is based solely on requirements of the patients. This table is highly suitable for bedridden patients with an amputated arm. Carefully designed to suite any type of patients, this table is the most convenient in its class compared to other ergonomic designs as the user requires a minimum effort to handle the table. As this table is based on the results of the customers input, this ergonomic intervention is automated to a considerable. The other added features of this table would provide the user with a fatigue free experience and would ensure safety at any given moment. |
