Abstract | There are mainly two types of treadmills, which are medical treadmills and sport treadmills. Medical treadmills are one of the common methods used in taking reading of the experiments. In this thesis it is discussed about a prototype model of an exoskeleton training treadmill. This system consists of three main modes, which are manual speed control mode, manual position control mode, automatic speed control mode. This study is mainly focused on controlling the DC motor speed and position using an optical encoder. Arduino microcontroller is used to execute the program and PID controller is used to minimize the error by adjusting the input signal. Main focus of this work is to apply the theoretical knowledge in to a practical engineering application. |
