Abstract | Image processing and machine vision has become very important in the field of robotics, as they allow robots, to observe and learn their external environment using vision. Industrial and manufacturing systems are rapidly transforming into vision based technologies, in increasing production efficiency and at the meantime, eliminating the need for monotonous and time consuming jobs. One of the key areas of research and application in vision based manufacturing systems is robust tracking of approaching objects. In this project, I propose a simple, economic and flexible method of color based tracking and interception of an approaching object using a single –fixed camera, that could be used in industrial applications. |
