AbstractThis report consists on modelling a controlled ferrofluid system. It includes step by step approach of building the module, procedure for deciding the specifications of electromagnets and building them. As well as creating an interface board to be used with a PCI card which contains the required amount of out-puts. The required pattern is modeled by activating the required electromagnet using the PCI programmable input - output board. ā€œCā€ programming is used to control the PCI board. To actuate the three patterns; Gaussian Wave, Sea Wave and Helix Wave three programs were written which gave out successful out puts. Finally the improvements which can be done to this project in-order to improve the pattern height and the visibility of the module are also given.
