Abstract | This study has attempted to highlight the role of infrastructure services and
their spatial distribution, which include land transport, electricity and domestic
water supply and communication services, in the development progress of an area.
A case study is in Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Province, Vietnam.
Using methods and techniques such as: field survey, interview/discussions,
check list, descriptive statistical and spatial analysis, accessibility and network
analysis, charts and photos. The study has tried to analyze the existing situation of
physical infrastructure, identify the main problems and their causes, meanwhile,
through strength, weakness, opportunity" and threat assessment, an infrastructure
plan was proposed in order to solve the problems and promote the development
process of the District.
Results of the study indicated the significance of the road network as well as
water supply, electric power, communication services on the lives of local people.
This study also revealed that although transport network is an important
factor for development, to be integrated with the other economic factors also
influencing the development progress. |
