AbstractThe study attempted to know how the different decision-making of the firms, in Cambodia, in the capital investment. The most important of capital investment decisions is selecting the most profitable project, which maximize value of the firm. On the other hand, the important thing in capital budgeting decision is providing effectiveness, efficiency and competitive position through economizing scarce resources, correct management and correct decisions. The available information from companies surveyed and case study was analyzed in the model of conceptual framework of capital budgeting. The study will analyze whether the investment decision is proper or not. It was found that medium-sized companies follow the standard capital budgeting. Even they adopt the capital investment framework, there is still ineffectiveness in some steps of framework. Small companies have no proper capital investment framework. All companies consider an investment as a flow of the investment ideas and supply of capital. In contrast, economic theory views investment as the interaction of the supply of capital and the flow of investment opportunities. A model have been created in order to mention a standard capital budgeting procedure in Cambodia based on the findings of the study.
