AbstractIn order to establish the Domestic Water Supply Projects in Cambodia, the PRASAC organization (funded by the EU) had to carry out a technology transfer process. Equipments and tools were transferred through various mechanisms. Skills and know-how had been transferred to local employees in order to build up their capabilities and capacities. This study analyzed the managing technology transfer process at the PRASAC organization. A model was presented to explain the technology transfer process. The model attempts to show the main elements of technology transfer process, barriers and facilitators. The study also identified the problems faced by the PRASAC organization and its solution approaches in technology transfer process. The findings indicated that the equipments and tools were transferred through a complicated purchasing process by non-technical people at the management level and an inexperienced firm. The managerial skills were not transferred to local employees in the whole project life cycle. Transferee's environments and greater environments were not the advantages for technology transfer process in that period. A lot of problems and barriers were found. Finally, the study formulated specific and general recommendations based on the findings for all parties involved in technology transfer process.
