Abstract | The purpose of this research is to investigate whether it is an appropriate time for Vietnamese businesses to use Internet as a promotion tool as well as the extent to which Internet should be implemented. First the brief overview of the Internet is given, which describes the mechanism of operating, outstanding features of the Internet, the opportunities for business use and the Internet as strategic business component for creating advantages for firms. Then the current use of Internet in Vietnam is introduced. The Internet is examined for multiple aspects of cost benefits, environmental scanning, virtual value chain to get to the conclusion of the appropriateness of the Internet for Vietnamese businesses. Finally, the guideline for Vietnamese businesses to apply Internet for business is proposed to improve the chance of successful implementation in the Vietnam Internet business infancy. |
