| Abstract | Green building concept and technology spread our rapidly all over the world. There are many benefits of using this concept. As many other countries Sri Lanka is also stepping access to this green building concept. In this concept there are some materials and approaches using in constructions. Therefore the objective of this research is to study the knowledge and adaptation of the green building approach in Sri Lanka. In order to find the Adaptation and knowledge of the green building approach in Sri Lanka it has ben selected 55 major construction companies in Sri Lanka for the collection of data. By selecting materials and approaches which mostly use in green building construction questionnaire was prepare to collect the data for analyze knowledge and adaptation. By analyzing the data it has studies the knowledge and adaptation of the green building approach in Sri Lanka. In this research it has also studied the green building approach with social factors which are related to the construction industry in Sri Lanka. By this research it could see that there is a lack of applying this new green building concept in Sri Lanka. But engineers in Construction industry have good knowledge of the approach in green building concept. |
