Abstract | The textile industry is large and well-established in Thailand. It is one of the most important industrial sectors in Thailand. Thai textile industry change from import substitution industry to an export-oriented industry. The total textile export have decreased . The growth path of Thai textile industry has not been quite smooth. Some major constraints will likely affect the future development of the Thai textile industry. The main problems are unbalanced growth between different stages of textile production, lack of modern technology, high import tariff on raw materials, high labor cost, shortages of technical manpower. Thai textile also faced with external sources, for example, the fluctuation of currency in country, the recession in world economic, high competition in the world textile market. This study explores the problems and analyzes the causes in order to resolve the problems. Also, this study is investigate the development of Thai textile and the possibility of future expansion and growth of this industry under present circumstances. Moreover, this research will study the role of Thai textile and the government policies. |
