AbstractProduct is produced based on customers' and markets' demands. It goes through two main processes from idea conceptualization to the finished product: the design process and the manufacturing process. CAD, CAM and CAE tools are utilize in product design process to produce the product within a short period of time. The CAD tool is used in design process to present product in designer's mind, CAE tools help to analyze the design by Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and CAM tools help to generate the CL file directly from 3Dimensions CAD model data. This study is specified in product design process to produce " chassis for mobile robot " by using CAD, CAE and CAM tools. Producing solid body used UGS version 15.0 and analyzing the design of geometrical parts used FEA by using the NASTRAN version 4.0. To produce prototypes of some parts were made by two processes: RP (rapid Prototyping) process and water jet machine. Both of two methods used the 3D model parts and generated into STL file for producing rapid prototyping models and IGES file for using in water jet machine. The FEA helps to analysis the models that can be supporting the load of mobile robot and its components.
