AbstractThe role of marketing has changed over the past few years. Firms today need marketing's inputs in their Research and Development and in production operations more than ever. In the pharmaceutical industry, where firms try to find ways to prevent, inhibit, or cure the diseases that are already there. In other words, where firms try to fulfill the needs that are already in the market. The valuable inputs from marketing is indispensable for producing medicines that have both medical and commercial values. Unfortunately, successful in spreading and promoting the information about the new products to the market is not an easy task for any firm. Problems of promoting the new products in the market common in every organization. When they are not managed well, they usually waste the money and times, the competitiveness of the firm usually goes down. The goal of this research is to observe the mechanisms that can reduce the cost and times for pharmaceutical industry to launch their new products in the markets. And also the factors that can lead the pharmaceutical firms to succeed in spreading and promoting the information about the new products to the markets. To achieve this goal, the operation and marketing of pharmaceutical firms in Thai and Cambodian markets was studied with focus on its successful ways to launch their new pharmaceutical products in that both markets. Finally, based on the findings in the literature research and on expert opinions, several recommendations and discussions are made for facilitating and guiding the pharmaceutical firms in their business.
