AbstractThe traditional production scheduling & sequencing systems (based on the manufacturing resource planning (MRP) concept) do not sufficiently support the planner regarding feasibility of the plans in terms of resource capacity and scheduling & sequencing rule. Because of this limitation, the planner has to apply his/her own skill, and thus it takes long time. In order to resolve this problem and to obtain a feasible schedule, the scheduling & sequencing rule should be taken into consideration based on the limitations of the available resource capacity. This thesis presents an algorithm to generate a feasible production planning in accordance with finite capacity and scheduling & sequencing rule This study is based on Siam NEC-a color television manufacturing company in Thailand. This paper also develops software to make production plan easier and to reduce the time for the planner. This software is developed in Visual Basic language.
